Everton changes gear on Odemwingie
It is now improbable that English Premier League club Everton will announce the signing of Nigerian-born striker and Beijing 2008 silver medalist Peter Osaze Odemwingie this January, according to a foreign tabloid.
Toffees manager David Moyes had reportedly considered the 27-year-old as a possible acquisition as he looks to boost his attacking options following the injuries to Louis Saha, Yakubu and James Vaughan.
However, while the Merseyside club are after an initial loan deal, it is claimed that Odemwingie's current club, Lokomotiv Moscow, are only willing to sell and have quoted a fee of €13.6 million.
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to a Russian mother and Nigerian Father, the forward opted to pursue an international career with Nigeria, for whom he has won 26 caps and scored five goals.
