FIBA Africa Zone 3 Qualifiers
Odaudu slams teams’ performances

Coach of Islanders Basketball Club, Ogoh Odaudu has thumbed down the performances of teams at the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone 3 Qualifiers in Lagos.
Mindful of the fact that the slam and dunk fiesta will produce the zone’s two representatives at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup final in Tunis, Tunisia next month, the former senior national team point guard who spoke to Vandykesport.com at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Lagos on Thursday, said with the exception of the host, Union Bank and Kano Pillars, others performances were elementary.
“The final will be between Union Bank and Kano Pillars; these are the teams that have actually elevated the competition, unlike the mediocre performances being exhibited by other team.
“The two teams can put up smiles on the zone at the final in Tunisia, but should anything happen and they did not come up top then the zone would be up for a jamboree.”
The former Ebun Comets player was hard on the Ivorien campaigner, Phenix, insisting that Abidjan Basketball Club (ABC) would have put up a good image for the West African state.
“Phenix are not playing very well, I think ABC which actually qualified for the competition before it withdrew would have done better. Others are here to make up the numbers,” he said.
