Expatriate coach for Falcons
Adiukwu ask NFF to tread cautiously

Even as pressure mounts on the soccer authority to shake off the burden of local coaches in the wake of poor results returned by the national female teams in recent international competitions, a female football interest top gun, Pepsie Adiukwu has sued for caution.
Calling on the soccer house to put their house in order, Adiukwu who told vandykesport.com in a telephone chat that much attention has not been given to female football sector insisted rushing for an expatriate coach immediately may turn out to be putting the cart before the horse.
“Expatriate coach will fail if the state of affair remains the same. The situation must change; we must put our house in order before taking the option of a foreign coach.
“The fortune of the female teams is going down, that is a fact and that calls for genuine concern but not the way people are jumping for quick cure in the garb of foreign coach. There is no quick cure, rather the moment calls for sober reflections.
“What is the state of the coaches, the players’ welfare and most essentially how do we prepare our national teams for international competitions?
“Countries hitherto sleeping have woken up, no lesser team anymore, so for us to reclaim the number one position we must invest in the teams, coaches and stop seeing our teams as unbeatable either within or outside.
“Again there are players who naturally should give way to the younger ones and the idea of putting personal interest above the nation in the appointment of coaches must stop, merit must be the watch word.”
Describing Super Falcons’ loss of the African Women’s Championship (AWC) title in Equatorial Guinea as blessing in disguise, the Imo state born acclaimed female soccer presenter who sought to represent the South East in the Alhaji Sanni Lulu’s Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board said it is a bitter pill we needed to re-launch ourselves back to the continent number one position.
“The loss of AWC crown is painful and bitter; however patients at times need bitter pills to get well. There is a lot of lesson inherent in the defeat, if we get our priority well, I am sure in a very shortest time we will climb back to the top spot,” she said.
